Alzabo is a data modelling tool. It allows you to define a schema by creating tables, columns, indexes, foreign keys, etc. Alzabo comes with a Mason-based schema creation too, which can be used with any web browser. This tool allows you to create and edit any number of schemas. This tool is capable of generating the SQL statements necessary to create a new schema or it can reverse engineer an already existing schema. Once you have created a schema once, Alzabo is smart enough to generate "differential SQL" in order to apply future changes. Alzabo also functions as an RDBMS-OO mapping tool. What this means is that instead of using SQL to access your database, you are given an object-oriented wrapper with which to access your data. It is quite likely that if you worked on a large database-backed project, you may used or written a customized wrapper of a similar nature. Alzabo provides the same thing, but in a generic manner, meaning you don't have to rewrite the same things over and over again |

If you want to switch your current plain text database to a new CGI script, which uses a different format, Database Converter will do the job for you. Most of the time you will have hundreds of lines of data in a database file, changing it manually to get it ready for a new script would take you a long time. |

DB_Browser is a CGI tool for developers working with a relational database. It easily facilitates searching, editing, and adding to tables within a database without having to develop customized software. While it can be used as a regular interface to database data itself, it works well as a supplemental tool for developers creating their own primary interface. It is hoped that you will find DB_Browser useful and make suggestions for improvement, or join the project as a developer and contribute directly. |

FutureSQL is a web database administration tool, written in Perl, using MySQL. It uses DBI:DBD and CGI.pm. FutureSQL allows one to easily setup config files to view, edit, delete and otherwise process records from a MySQL database. It uses a data dictionary, configuration files and html templates, and allows "pre-processing" and "post-processing" on both fields, records and operations. It's very flexible and has a wide range of options. It can be used for administrative functions, but it can also be modified to allow web visitors to perform read only searches on data tables. It allows multiple setup files to provide different views or operations on the same data set. Thus, an administrator / programmer can tailor it to fulfill a large number of functions, providing a different look and feel for different web sites. Documentation is included in the setup file. |

MySQL SiteMaker (mySiteMaker) is a collection of CGI tools to rapidly create web interfaces to MySQL database tables. It started out as a "Lite" version of phpMyAdmin, which may sound silly and pointless because phpMyAdmin is such a great tool for administrators, BUT sometimes phpMyAdmin is overkill; especially when you want a web front end to a MySQL database and the intended users are the general public and not administrators. Since its beginning, however, many, many useful features have been added that make mySiteMaker an entirely different beast. Features: Web based configuration. Automatically generates Search, Results, Add and Edit HTML screens. The search screen is very simple, easy to use and does not require the user to have any knowledge of SQL. The user can select which columns they want to view or export. Searches can be based on the contents of files that the user can upload. For example, the user might have a list of employee numbers in a file and, instead of having to run a separate search for each number, they can just upload the file that contains the numbers. Searches can be refined by allowing searches within result sets. This effectively lets users append AND style clauses to their searches without complicating the user interface and without requring the user to know SQL. Data can be viewed or exported in a variety of ways: as HTML pages, as tab delimited text files and as MS-Excel files. The administrator may specify columns in the database that contain only URLs or email address and they will appear in the results screen as hyper-links. |
