adept is a webbased course system (WBL, WBT ...) written in PHP3 using MySQL as the database. adept is licensed under GPL. As an authour you use the administration tools to write your course directly online. To do this you need some knowledge of HTML (a small guide is available online). You also set up a FAQ, links to other sites and a homepage for the course. Each course also has its own discussiongroup as a communication channel for you and the users. As an user you can register and get a password by email. When you have your password you can log in and choose any number of available courses. You also get access to a small notebook. For each part (module) of the course you can mark it as "ready" so you know where you are when you come back. The system also keeps track on new and changed modules. When you are finished with a course you can answer a small survey. This survey is used by the author to make the course better. Your "score" is also used to calculate the "average rating" for the course. |
