Locked Area Lite is a highly sophisticated password protection and membership management system written in Perl. It has been designed to be as secure as possible while it still runs hands-free with no input from the webmaster needed. It uses Apache's .htaccess and .htpasswd along with DES randomised salt encryption of passwords for increased security. Locked Area Lite also maintains a member's database that allows the administrator to maintain a newsletter or mailing list along with the member's area. Tools are also included to allow your member's to modify their account information, change their password, remove their account or request a new random eight-character password. Included in the administration panel is a powerful member's area statistics system which allows the administrator to see which users are logging in most and view the top IP addresses, web browsers and referrers amongst others. |
