Edcom's Virtual Directory System, EVDS, is basically an SQL driven URL indexing system which allows URLs to be categorized in a fashion similar to Netscape's Open Directory, LookSmart, and Yahoo!. EVDS lets you use categories and subcategories to organize your database. Each record is allocated space for a unique ID, URL, description, and keyword list. The keyword list is also utilized when creating the static browsable directory tree in the META KEYWORDS tag, so EVDS is search engine friendly. |
