An advanced tutorial that uses several techniques to produce the final product.

I would not reccomend this tutorial to a beginning users as this is a complicated process and therefore a certain oneus falls to the user to recreate several steps on their own (ex: I only walk you through the first step in a thirteen step process, the other steps are exactly the same).

This tutorial is designed to teach technique more than to produce a final product. There are easier ways to make a tentacle, but this tutorial will arm you with a powerful tool to make thousands of possible designs with precision and repeatable outcomes.

That being said I'm certain that once you create a tentacle my way, you'll find it your prefered method. True, there are a lot of steps, but the process you learn is a very powerful and versataile one that I, myself, use constantly now.

Enjoy. I'd appreciate any feedback positive OR negative.

I must say this was the most complex and intreging tut for a tentical that I have ever come across...... but it's very well done....

I recomend this to everyone that has ever wanted to do a tentical nicely....

and to all those who don't like tenticals... read anyways... some sweet ideas in there :) (Smile)

For those interested, this http://www.deviantart.com/tutorial.php?i d=125177 is the correct link. The one Jark provided will not work because of a stray period in his link.

Darn, I must be a bit dim or something...it all went titsup for me around step 9 i think.

My alpha channels didn't look like the ones in the screenshot, mine where just black, not sure what I did wrong, i'll give it another bash from the start tho.
